Shan-Words that I remember

'If you really want something, you need to give all your efforts and tell yourself that it will be yours without doubts.' that's what my mum told me when I was small.

My mum is a great person. She has gone through many difficluties that I cannot even imagine.

When she was young, about high-school-age, there was the Chinese Revolution. Every youngster in the city had to leave school, go to the countryside and do farm work. It was really a tough work for those young people who were born and bred in the city and who had never done farm work ever. The most difficult thing is, they needed to get up at 5 o'clock every morning, keep working under the scorching sun till noon, and after eating some bread, they went back work again. When girls got there, almost everyone tried their best to avoid working. They pretended they were ill or took rest during the work when others didn't notice. Some girls even married to the local farmers so that they don't need to work anymore, but the fate for them was miserable: they would  never get the chance to go back to city again.

My mum, however, has made up her mind to go back to city and continue to stuy. So she worked very hard.
She was always the one who got up the earliest and worked till the latest. After a year, they could haveone person to go back to city, and because of the recommedation of the local farmers, my mum managed to go back and she was the only one who went back so early.

I asked her why she worked so hard. She said, 'I knew that going back was the only chance I had, so I told myslef to give all my effort and I had to be the one who went back earliest.'
